Event description

Description

In this challenge to the audience, Danielle Jawando, Pete Kalu and Tariq Mehmood will discuss how to invent characters and plots that are truly diverse. Several potential pitfalls will be outlined and the debate extended to the hot topics of authenticity, cultural appropriation, representation and artistic freedom. By the end of the session, participants may have a better idea of how to create young adult plots which have a deep consideration of diversity and inclusion at their core.
