Creating educational escape rooms with Xerte

About this event

ONLINE JOINING INSTRUCTIONS WILL BE SENT TO PARTICIPANTS NEARER THE TIME OF THE EVENT.

Following on from the previous session on designing educational escape rooms, we will introduce Surrey’s Xerte Toolkit as a platform for creation of an educational escape room activity. This tool can be used by teachers and students, collaboratively, to develop pedagogically-based projects, without the need for advanced technical skills.

The session will explore templates which can be used for puzzles, locks and non-linear navigation.

This workshop may be more suitable for those who have created interactive learning activities with Xerte before.

If you are a Xerte newbie, please attend the ‘Introduction to Xerte’ Workshop to benefit fully from the techniques covered.

Please note: These CPD workshops are intended for university of Surrey staff only. All university of Surrey staff please use your Surrey email address to register to avoid losing your place.

Organiser of Creating educational escape rooms with Xerte

The Surrey Institute of Education professional development events are open to all members of staff and PGRs who are considering or are currently involved in teaching and/or the support of learning at the University, and who would like the opportunity to develop a greater understanding of their role within the learning environment.

The ‘Introduction to Teaching and Learning in HE’ and 'Assessment and Feedback’ are the workshops that the PGR Code of Practice identifies as compulsory.

The events are interactive, focusing on exploring the inter-relationship between learning and teaching, and have been developed to link together, but also as stand-alone sessions.

All online information including joining links will be sent to participants prior to the event.
