Creating Effective Traineeship Programmes
Fri 7 April 2017, 09:00 – 16:00 BST
Renaissance Skills is delighted to announce the first in a series of one day workshops aimed at practitioners and managers within the further education and skills sector. This event is focused on creating effective traineeship programmes and is of relevance to anyone involved in designing and delivering these programmes, or for those thinking of launching a traineeship programme.
The event includes free parking, refreshments, a hot buffet lunch, and training materials.
The aims of the workshop are to:
-Gain an understanding of the national picture relating to traineeships: where they have come from, what they currently look like, and what their future is.
-Understand the financial model of traineeships and their associated audit requirements.
-Explore what innovative curriculum looks like in this area and start to develop a unique proposition for your provision
-Put questions to experts on a range of traineeship topics
-Network with other practitioners and managers
The event is facilitated by Terry Norris. Terry has a long track record in education and skills, specialising in NEETs and traineeship provision within colleges and private training providers. In her last role, she successfully introduced traineeship provision wihtin hospitality and facilities operations within significant employers in the sports industry, working closely with the JobCentre, local schools, and third sector organisations to help bring SEND learners on to a programme which led to progression on to apprenticeships and meaningful jobs for many of those who undertook a traineeship. Her work was commended and she will be sharing her experiences (good and bad!) on how to develop a traineeship to be proud of.
