Since our last series of Community Investment masterclasses in early 2015, the environment for social housing providers has changed significantly. Resources are limited and at the same time many communities in these post-Brexit times are under even more pressure. Re-focused and innovative responses are having to be developed by agencies across all sectors.
These changes have impacted upon the community investment work of housing associations – a handful have decided to withdraw, some have scaled down and the majority have prioritised, focused and innovated. To be able to continue doing community investment associations now have to get the greatest possible impact for their investment. New ways of thinking, designing and delivering are crucial and the relationship between spend and effect on the business bottom line (i.e. repair costs, voids, rent arrears, etc) is increasingly important.
HACT remains at the forefront of thinking, innovating and learning in this field. This Autumn, in conjunction with our Community Investment partner SRC, we will be running a new series of masterclasses for new times.
At this first masterclass you will hear from informed observers, policy makers and practitioners – both from within and beyond the social housing world. We will update you on the new landscape for community investment, look to the future resourcing and delivery of community investment and we will provide ideas and examples as to how to you can develop the next generation of community investment and social impact work.
Who is this session for?
This session is aimed at senior and middle managers responsible for community investment. It may also be useful for other staff and Board members who are keen to keep up to date and network with community investment professionals.
The topics for the following events in this four-part masterclass series will be confirmed very shortly.
