Creating Inclusive Cultures - Birmingham Launch
Wed 12 October 2016, 17:45 – 20:00 BST
Creating Inclusive Cultures is a challenge, as well as an opportunity, for every sector and organisation – but many struggle to move beyond delivering the initial commitments. Where do you get started when your business is as diverse as it’s people? How do you lead the charge on creating change in a company that doesn’t see the value to progress? How do you create a more flexible and agile workplace? And how do you engage people at all levels along the way?
CIC Birmingham is honoured to welcome Caroline Waters OBE, Deputy Chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission and Former Director of People and Policy at BT. She was voted one of the most influential HR practitioners of the last decade by HR Magazine Excellence Awards 2015.
Caroline Waters OBE, is currently Deputy Chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission, Vice President of Carers UK and Founder and CEO of CW Consulting Box. She was also Director of People and Policy at BT and has a distinguished record on equality, inclusion, and human resources. She has been the driving force of many diversity-focused groups where she has routinely set the agenda and demonstrated real thought leadership. Caroline’s work at BT was recognised by several diversity awards including best ethnic minority recruitment programme awarded by Race for Opportunity. To this day, BT is the only company ever to top seven leading diversity benchmarks at the same time. An accomplishment achieved for three consecutive years under Caroline’s leadership. She was awarded the OBE for services to diversity and equal opportunities in the New Year's Honours list in 2010.
Join us to hear Caroline’s views from ‘up poles and down holes’ and benefit from her extensive knowledge, find out what other companies are doing and hear why creating inclusive cultures is critical for sustainable and successful companies in the 21st Century.
