Creating Spaces of Sanctuary

What does it really mean to create sanctuary? This event explores how communities across the UK are building lasting spaces of care, resistance, and solidarity with refugees and migrants.

Through conversations with NGO workers, educators, and those with lived experience of migration, we’ll discuss how sanctuary can be a daily and active practices. It is not just a place of safety, but a way to foster collective care and shared responsibility.

Hear from speakers including:

  • Katie Graves – Welcome Hackney
  • Alaa Almanabri – Sanctuary Ambassador
  • Megan Greenwood – Schools of Sanctuary UK
…and others working at the heart of this movement.

Whether you're involved in community work, education, activism, or simply curious, this is a space to learn, reflect, and connect around creating more inclusive and compassionate communities.
