This exciting and interactive workshop will walk you through the process of using a smartphone to create a high quality video about your research. With the expert tuition of Alys Kay experienced videographer you will learn how to:

discover who your audience is and what they want
generate ideas for a research video
how to plan and shoot a video
composition and filming techniques
recording great sound
setting up seamless interviews.

Uploading a video to youtube can contribute to a researchers web presence so this increases their impact beyond academia. This course is suitable for beginners without any prior video production knowledge or experience but the course requires all participants to have a smart phone with the ability to capture audio and video. Additional items of equipment: microphones and tripods will be provided in the course. Alys will also be recommending a kit list of cheap accessories that will greatly increase the production quality of the video content produced.
