Heather Orr is a textiles graduate from the Royal College of Art and specialises in macramé, crochet and knitted textiles. All her work is all hand made. Heather is keen to share knowledge and develop enthusiasm for making. Recent workshop hosts include Babington House, the Royal College of Art and Jane Bowler, with whom she delivers a series of experimental workshops using unconventional materials. Creative Breaks: making time for creativity in the working day has been developed by Sue Woodward, Angela Maddock and Jenny Oates. It is a well being project supported by King’s Cultural Institute. The project involves weekly hour-long arts-based lunchtime creative breaks over twelve weeks in 2018 for nursing and midwifery faculty staff and students Faculty members are invited to take part in a creative break based on the themes of ‘Five Ways to Wellbeing’: Keep moving, Invest in Relationships, Never stop Learning, Give to others, Savour the moment. The project will finish on 10 December with three separate extended workshops.

Please note: we are evaluating this project. If you take part you will be invited to complete a weekly online survey and some final evaluation. You are under no obligation to take part in the evaluation if you take part in the events.

These workshops are only for the staff and students of the Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery & Palliative Care, King’s College London.
