Come and make your own set of botanically-inspired postcards using the marvelously versatile medium of gouache. We’ll be experimenting with brushes, dipping pens and rubber stamps to create mini-masterpieces to
send your friends.

Jane Porter is an accomplished illustrator and author. She specialises in creating guides, trails and maps for museums and historic houses - including the National Trust, the Victoria and Albert Museum and The Southbank Centre. She writes and illustrates children’s books and has a passion for the outdoors, she is a environmental volunteer with the River Wandle Trust, where she can be found clearing the river in her waders and gaining inspiration for her work.

Creative Breaks: making time for creativity in the working day has been developed by Sue Woodward, Angela Maddock and Jenny Oates. It is a well being project supported by King’s Cultural Institute. The project involves weekly hour-long arts-based lunchtime creative breaks over twelve weeks in 2018 for nursing and midwifery faculty staff and students Faculty members are invited to take part in a creative break based on the themes of ‘Five Ways to Wellbeing’: Keep moving, Invest in Relationships, Never stop Learning, Give to others, Savour the moment. The project will finish on 10 December with three separate extended workshops.

Please note: we are evaluating this project. If you take part you will be invited to complete a weekly online survey and some final evaluation. You are under no obligation to take part in the evaluation if you take part in the events.

These workshops are only for the staff and students of the Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery & Palliative Care, King’s College London.
