Creative Case and Board Engagement

With support from Arts Council England, Creative Case NORTH is hosting two North Area events for National Portfolio Organisations in June 2019.

Informed by sector feedback from the Creative Case NORTH 2017/18 programme, the events are designed to enable CEOs and their Chairs to identify together how best to support their Boards to meaningfully engage with the Creative Case for Diversity. The events will focus on:

  • Clarifying for Board members what the Creative Case for Diversity is and how it enables arts and cultural organisations to enrich their work

  • Sharing examples of how the Creative Case for Diversity contributes to an organisation’s vision and mission, and supports wider equalities, audience development and workforce development agendas

  • Exploring what meaningful Board engagement with the Creative Case for Diversity might look like, in the boardroom and beyond

  • Supporting Chairs and CEOs to identify what they need from each other to ensure open and ongoing dialogue around the Creative Case for Diversity

  • Exploring approaches to capturing and articulating Board engagement with the Creative Case for Diversity within Arts Council England’s reporting mechanisms

The events are free to attend, and will run from 10.30am - 4.30pm with refreshments and lunch provided. To fully benefit from the events CEOs and Chairs (or Senior Manager/Trustee) are advised to attend together.
