This August, Helm launches its new monthly kids’ workshop, Creative Club – a playful, hands-on morning of creativity led by a rotating line-up of guest artists. For our first session, we’re joined by Della, a gallery veteran and much-loved member of the Helm team.

Join us on Sunday 3rd August from 10–11.30am in the exhibition hall for a free workshop inspired by the surprising history of bananas in art. From pop art to surrealism, this session invites kids to explore how this everyday fruit has made its way into the work of some of the world’s most imaginative artists – then have a go at creating their own banana-inspired masterpieces.

This relaxed and engaging class is perfect for curious minds aged 5–11. Expect stories, laughter, and plenty of time to get creative. All materials will be provided, and no prior art experience is needed – just bring your imagination.

Parents are kindly asked to stay onsite, but are welcome to relax upstairs in the gallery with a coffee or matcha from our bar while the workshop takes place.

This is the first in a new series of Creative Club workshops, each exploring a different theme drawn from the world of art and ideas. With only 20 spaces available, tickets are free but limited – so grab one while you can.
