Event Details
It’s International Picnic Day, but we must protect our on-screen sarnies from being snapped up by peckish ducks and hungry bugs! Young coders (age 9-12) create a safe-snack security system at this month's Club, with the help of a bite-sized BBC micro:bit and a scoop of imagination. Using pressure-sensors and motion detection alarms, construct a cunning programme that will sound the alarm if activated by sneaky thieves - and save your virtual basket of treats!
All Saturday Club sessions must be accompanied by an adult. These family workshops are designed for you and your child to learn from each other and work together while trying out new things.
Our fun sessions reflect real world scenarios as coders bring their projects to life with the latest tech gadgets, programming in a variety of languages depending on the session. We encourage creativity and self-led learning with themed projects, and practice patience and problem-solving skills in learning to debug computer code. Suitable for: beginners or advanced.
Bring a picnic / refreshments: Due to unforeseen circumstances the Café will be closed, apologies for any inconvenience. Families are welcome to bring picnics and snacks to eat at our lunch tables.
