Creative Conversations Circle with Shannon Reed

About this event
AS FEATURED ON BBC RADIO KENT AND OH MAGAZINE
Would you like to really connect - with yourself and with other people who are female centred?
Would you like to create time for yourself that you won't give away to others needs?
Would you like to have some time to crochet, knit or make pompoms? Any other activity that uses your hands?
Would you like a safe space to BE, that asks nothing of you, where you can come entirely as you are, however you are?
I'd like to offer this to you, to give yourself an allocated amount of time away from all other demands and to solely BE and CREATE (or just BE if you so choose!).
Creative Conversations Circle!
I will be hosting this gathering for people who are female centred where we will work with our hands and connect with our hearts.
You are invited (but it is not essential) to bring along your own project that you may have abandoned recently or long ago (metaphor for abandoned self of course!).
It maybe crochet, knitting or pompom making that you just want to have some time to work on. It could be drawing, needle felting, colouring, vision boarding - whatever you like.
The focus here is to be in a space that is free of judgement, free of demands, and where you have freedom to play. Creativity is such an essential part of our basic needs as human beings and we neglect it and outsource it so easily.
You may also attend with no intention of doing and solely being - the power of witnessing and being witnessed is immeasurable.
However you are, you are welcome.
As a mum who has suffered from depression and anxiety and has used creativity to heal and support myself, and as a cis gendered woman who has been involved and led Red Tent women's circles for the past 4 years I know the value and power of making with our hands and witnessing. And now I want to bring them together to share with you.
Connection is also one of our basic needs. As an experienced Red Tent circle leader (but not qualified therapist or counsellor I hasten to add) I will hold the space with love and warmth and compassion so you can feel safe to share as much or as little as you feel moved to do.
Choosing to attend means you agree to respectfully withhold judgement, treat everything that is spoken about as confidential and bring an open heart.
This will mean you will feel full at the end of the evening - on life!
The power of people who are female centred coming together is PHENOMENAL!! And the power of creativity to nourish our souls is IMMEASURABLE!! Please give yourself this gift of time to fill your cup to overflowing, nurture you heart and create some space for joy.
Your virtual evening will look a little like this:
- Welcome all to the Zoom call
- I will then lead a guided visualisation to arrive in the moment and let go of the day.
- We'll have a quick introduction to greet everyone and then on with the creating and conversing.
- At the end I will guided us through a short gratitude practice to send us on our way.
- Depending on whether we are near a New of Full Moon there will be an opportunity to take a moment to work with those energies too
As this is an online event please take time to find a safe, private space in your home where you won't be disturbed, for yourself as much as protecting the privacy of all attendees and supporting the safety and confidentiality of the group.

Praise for Creative Conversations:
Uplifting. Nurturing. Inspirational. Real. Shannon is a goddess of our time and her Creative Conversations are the most gorgeous, friendly, safe space to just be around awesome women. I love how we can be as creative or as chatty as we want and that anyone and everyone is welcomed so caringly. And also how real and unguarded we can be rather than putting a face on and just pretending we're ok as we feel we often have to do in other spaces. Thanks so much Shannon for gifting us you x
"The best thing is I didn't have to leave my house to attend as I have a young child.
Secondly it was a chance for me to embrace my creativity and be surrounded by a kind, like minded individuals.
It was a really safe space.
I really benefited from the experience and got a good night's sleep."
Vanessa Afful, Made by Pure Hands
"Creative Conversations is an opportunity to be spacious with yourself and your time.
It reminds you of what it is to be playful with no agenda.
This takes place whilst having meaningful connection and conversation. It adds a richness to how we are and how we are in presence with others.
It actually felt like a relief to choose to be in a space where I could play with scissors and do something I had relegated to later, later, later.
It wasn’t essential but it was important. Thank you Shannon, I will deffo be back "
Tamu Thomas, Live Three Sixty
“I've signed up for Creative Conversations again this month having had such a very positive experience attending in the past.
The space you provide is not only an opportunity to connect with others, but a real chance to give to and connect with ourselves.
It's nourishing, revitalising, and energising in it allowance of calm contemplation.
The sense of peace and generosity generated during Creative Conversations means I always come away with a renewed focus on what I need and a renewed sense of where I am and where I want to be.
Thank you for providing and creating this space, and for making it safe and so very nurturing.”
Laura Leigh Chapman
