As always, our Creative Conversations have a musical link and this event title, My Old School, offers both an insight to Steely Dan across the years and a cultural history lesson!

We are proud to present two legends in education, Mick Waters and Tim Brighouse, for a very special conversation. They have just published a remarkable book, “About Our Schools - Improving on Previous Best”. It is a fascinating and unusual history of education in England beginning in the last half of the twentieth century, with very clear lessons in it for Scotland and the rest of the United Kingdom.

The book is based on interviews with every Secretary of State for Education who successfully passed two tests – 1. they were still alive and 2. they were prepared to be questioned by Mick and Tim!

The insights are unique but it goes further to ask what can we do now to offer a better future to our children.
