About this Event
Oliver K. Langmead lives and writes in Glasgow. His long-form poem, Dark Star, featured in the Guardian’s Best Books of 2015, and his new book, Birds of Paradise, is arriving April 2021.
Oliver is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Glasgow, where he is researching terraforming and ecological philosophy, and in late 2018 he was the writer in residence at the European Space Agency’s Astronaut Centre in Cologne.
You can pre-order a signed copy of Birds of Paradise through the Forbidden Planet website: https://forbiddenplanet.com/322154-birds-of-paradise-signed-edition/
Creative Conversations is programmed by the University of Glasgow Creative Writing Programme and funded by the Ferguson Bequest. Professor Thomas Ferguson (1900-1977), Henry Mechan Chair of Public Health (1944-64), bequeathed his estate to the University, with the instruction that the money should be used to foster the social side of University life.
This event is in collaboration with the University of Glasgow's Centre for Fantasy and the Fantastic. More information about the Centre can be found at https://www.gla.ac.uk/schools/critical/research/researchclusters/fanstasyatglasgow/
