Scottish Book Trust awardee, Sumayya Usmani is an author, writing mentor and an intuitive writing guide. She found her creative writing voice through the art of ‘andaza ’ (intuitive living and cooking). Growing up on a ship, her travels and experiences shape the stories she tells and the recipes she recreates. Sumayya's writing focus is on culinary nostalgia, belonging, the Indian subcontinent and the effects of colonialism and Partition. Her books include: Mountain Berries and Desert Spice, Andaza: The Memoir, Summers Under the Tamarind Tree.
