The opportunity
Digital Catapult North East Tees Valley in partnership with Sunderland Culture, are offering Sunderland-based Arts, Culture and Heritage creatives the opportunity to attend a programme of fully funded sessions that cover different areas of digital adoption. This programme is available to different sections of the creative, cultural and heritage sector within Sunderland, whether you are a venue, individual or part of a creative organisation.

For the first week of the programme attendees can expect to partake in three different sessions:.
Networking:
During this session attendees will have the unique opportunity of getting to know others working within the same sector. The facilitators of this session will help attendees look at the challenges and opportunities that technology can present. This session will take place at 14:00 on Monday 6th July.
Social Media:
During this session attendees will learn and understand the value of using social media to promote themselves and to better engage with their audience. They will hear from a marketing professional about how to create their own social media strategy, choosing the right social media platforms, how to use social media as a tool to build your brand personality, the basics of social media measurement and top tricks and tips for different platforms. This session will take place at 10:30 on Wednesday 8th July.
Website:
In this session attendees can expect to hear about different website building platforms, how they work, some of the design elements of website building i.e. visuals and content., how social media may feed into a website and the potential costs of development. The session will also touch on questions to ask web designer/developer. This session will take place at 10:30 on Friday 10th July.
These sessions make up a part of the Unlock the City programme which supports the development of artists and creative businesses in Sunderland. Unlock the City is delivered in partnership by Sunderland Culture, Sunderland City Council, Digital Catapult, North East BIC and Sunderland BME Network, with funding from Arts Council England, National Lottery Heritage Fund and Coastal Communities Fund.
Who should attend?
These sessions are aimed at creative individuals (e.g. artists, producers, dancers, sculptors etc.), venues or creative organisations that are based in Sunderland who are eager to learn more about how digital could be used within their work.
