Event description

Description

The purpose of the session is to draw together the University’s eclectic mix of research that utilises or engages with Creative Digital Technologies, and for academics and industry practitioners to input in to the development of a framing narrative for Creative Digital Technologies at the University of Exeter.

The University’s portfolio within the Creative Technology field is multi-disciplinary and varied, with activity found in all Colleges. This includes academics utilising Virtual Reality environments and technology in Sports Science, Health, Psychology, Mining and Performing Arts; Augmented Reality technology in Arts and Heritage Studies, Culture, and Tourism Business Studies; Computer Gaming in Arts, Culture, Business, Environmental Science, Education and Engineering; Artificial Intelligence and Robotics in Psychology and Engineering; and Digital Media and Mobile Applications in E-Health, Culture, Arts, Heritage, and Environment.

Despite this, The University does not currently have a ‘space’ where research and partnerships can be coherently showcased and brought together, so that opportunities can be shared, collaboration can be supported and innovation can happen. The Centre for Intermedia and Creative Technology aims to change this.

This event is invite only. Lunch and refreshments will be served.
