About this Event
The painter Grace Hartigan (1922-2008) and the writer, critic and poet Frank O'Hara (1926–1966) were close friends in New York's post-war art scene. As a curator at the Museum of Modern Art, O'Hara became prominent in New York City's art world and he and Hartigan became key players in the New York School of poets and artists in the 1950s.
In this online series of lectures, Dr Marie-Anne Mancio shares the stories, artworks and legacies of various pairs of artists and / or writers who have competed, cross-influenced and sometimes married.
In the second of our February Creative Double Acts series: Frank O'Hara and Grace Hartigan.
