Creative Facilitation in Health Research: Insights, Practice and Futures
Overview
Creative Facilitation is the use of arts-based and experimental techniques to bring people from diverse backgrounds together to collaborate, take risks and form meaningful connections. The Institute for Medical Humanities at Durham University is known internationally for pioneering creative facilitation in interdisciplinary and cross-sector health research.
Join us to take a deep dive into how creative facilitation has been developed at Durham and taken up in different contexts. You’ll hear from people trained in creative facilitation who have used it:
- In work with communities to illuminate lived experiences of health, illness, and health inequalities
- In University research settings to develop new partnerships, research projects, and governance structures
- In higher education to find new ways of engaging students and improve teaching practice
The showcase will also provide opportunities to explore creative facilitation in action and to share your thoughts about its future development and implementation.
All welcome. Light refreshments will be provided.
