Event description
Creative freelance colleagues are warmly invited to attend a CPD session focusing on governance as a freelance practitioner

About this event

In this latest session for freelancers, the Curious Minds team will support Creative Practitioners with Governance.

During this session we will explore:

  • The pros and cons of being a sole trader
  • Setting up as a Community Interest Company (CIC) or Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO)
  • Benefits in applying for funding and work
  • Accountability

We are delighted to be joined by special guest speaker Ann-Marie Lawrenson. Ann- Marie is the Capacity Lead at Halton & St Helens Voluntary and Community Action. With over 20 years of experience working within the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Sector in various roles, Ann-Marie has contributed to the work of Halton & St Helens VCA since 2000 and has held a senior manager position since 2004. A major part of Ann-Marie’s current role is to lead on capacity building and development for organisations working towards the STAR Standard Quality Award. She utilises her many skills to work effectively with Trustees, Staff and volunteers to ensure organisations are compliant with charity law and company law, as well as assisting them in the development of the governance of the organisation.

This event will be taking place via Zoom. Once you have booked onto the session, you will be contacted in due course by a member of the team with the registration link for the meeting.
