Creative Fuse CAKE - Data and Creativity
Date and time
Location
Online event
This CAKE event focuses on how data and creativity intersect and how both can be used to improve business, research, and the creative sector
About this event
• How do we work with data more creatively?
• In what ways can we be more creative with how we generate data?
• What ways can we bring more data into our creative work?
Solving questions like these can propel your creative and business practices forward and is something we’ll explore during this upcoming Collaboration and Knowledge Exchange (CAKE) event, brought to you by Creative Fuse NE.
Whilst data is pervasive and widely engaged with across the creative sector, there are still gaps in adoption and concerns over how to best use it. And while data-driven businesses and academic researchers use data to move their work forward, there remain novel and creative ways to rethink, adapt, or innovate how to use data,
Join us for a thought-provoking CAKE where we’ll hear about recent developments in academic research, the cultural sector, and the tech industry that help inform the intersection between data and creativity. We’ll explore not only the handling of data but also innovative ways that you can generate it. We’ll also present a series of provocations to get your thoughts on what matters most when considering data and creativity.

About CAKE
CAKE (Collaboration and Knowledge Exchange) is Creative Fuse North East’s monthly networking event, bringing together businesses, freelancers, academics, charities and creative practitioners from across the Creative, Digital and IT sectors and wider economy. Each themed CAKE event has expert speakers delivering short presentations that explore opportunities and innovation challenges. The events generate debate, explorative discussion and stimulate new innovative ideas by looking at each event’s theme from a variety of different perspectives – in keeping with the event name, attendees enjoy a slice of delicious cake while they network.*
“Not only was the event interesting and enjoyable but, for my company, it was an opportunity to make new connections. It has created new opportunities for Living Archive Limited, at a time in the company’s development where such opportunities are crucial for survival… The CAKE event was a chance to step back for a moment and focus on the bigger picture, and this has been very valuable to me.”
Dr. Nick Williams, Founder, Living Archive Limited
