What it’s all about
SCEP Presents: Creative Futures a jam packed evening bringing together young people aged 14+ in Salford who are curious about going into freelance or self-employed jobs within the creative industries.
Expect a practical, interactive evening of:
- Workshops led by real Salford-based creatives sharing their skills and know-how
- Talks and Q&As where you can ask anything about life as a freelance creative.
- Tours and demos for you to get behind the scenes insight into Hot Press, Media City
- Meet other creative young people and find out be around like-minded creativethinkers.
- Light refreshments will be available during the event including soft drinks and snacks

Show real-life examples of what freelancing actually looks like. Open up those first steps towards a creative career. Give you access to advice and inspo from creatives in Salford who’ve been there and done it. Leave you with the options and future opportunities to take things further.
Whether you want to be an artist, producer, designer, performer, filmmaker, writer - or you’re just curious about what’s possible - this event is your chance to explore. If you’re a young person dreaming of a creative future, this event is your chance to see how others have made it happen.

Address: Hot House, Located within the atrium of MediaCity’s Open Centre, at Dock10 Studios, MediaCityUK M50 2NT. (glass building opposite the main piazza).
Transport
Bike: MediaCity, on the Irwell River Park, is accessible by bike via traffic-free routes along the Manchester Ship Canal, River Irwell, and Bridgewater Canal. NCN Route 55 also runs through MediaCity to Salford, Chorlton, and South Manchester. There are numerous bike parking spaces on site.
Tram: The MediaCity metrolink stop lands you in the centre of MediaCity. This destination can be connected from Manchester Piccadilly. MediaCity is also accessible via The Eccles line which runs from Manchester City Centre to Eccles via Salford Quays,
Bus: There is a bus station situated in the centre of MediaCity. The most popular routes to connect to here are the Number 50 and the Number 29
Car: MediaCity is a two-minute drive from Junctions 2 and 3 on the M602, which links to the wider motorway network. There are three car parks on site
