Friday 27th May 2-4pm Planters and plantingwith Dawn Parker, Manager, Meadow street CommunityHelp us build and then plant up planters to offer a warm and colourful welcome at the entrance to the garden. A 2 hour practical session; come prepared to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty!

Friday 10th June 6.30-8.30pmSmall and beautiful – poetry on a summer’s eveningWith Richard Daly, Gardener, National TrustThere are limited places for this evening workshop. Participants will be encouraged to use the varied areas of the garden, and different kinds of planting and cultivation, to reflect on the relationship between formal constraint and imaginative play in the poem.

Friday 8th July 2-4pmWriting the garden, writing for growth – With Barrie Llewelyn, University of South WalesJoin this interactive workshop led by a published writer in the Gardens. The two-hour session will focus on creativity and well-being using creative prompts themed around gardens and gardening. A fun session in which you can choose to write, speak, and share your imaginative experiments!

Friday 22nd July 2-4pm Sowing summer salad basketswith Dawn Parker, Manager, Meadow street CommunityCome along to collect your basket! You’ll get the chance to plant it up with a mixture of cut-and-come-again salad leaves and other edibles. Once filled with tasty treasures you can take your basket home, in order to enjoy its contents at your leisure.

Friday 16th September 2-4pm Gathering-inWith Dawn Parker, Manager, Meadow street CommunitySpend the afternoon crafting and/or harvesting fresh produce, before gathering fireside to celebrate the end of summer and companionship with soup and homemade bread
