Pricing for creative businesses – a workshop
Brace yourselves, we’re going to tackle pricing.
Your work has value. You know that, your customer knows that.
But how do you translate value into price? How does your time + your skill + your unique idea = a price that someone else will pay?
Derek Brazell from The Association of Illustrators is here to help. At the October Creative Hub, Derek will demystify how to create a pricing structure, not just for illustrators but everyone involved in the creative arts. He’ll talk through how to strike the balance between the nature of your work, what you need and what your clients expect. He’ll look at licensing and all the elements of advertising, packaging and publishing and copyright that impact your final price.
Joanna Zara, a bespoke milliner is our business case study. Designing and creating unique handmade hats and headpieces to order. She has had the privilege of designing a hat for Royal Warrant Holders Lock & Co of St James’s. Joanna is also a visiting lecturer in business planning and financial management at the University of Brighton, working specifically with students in the School of Art Design and Media.
We’ll illuminate Derek’s advice and experience with our case study that will show you how it all comes together in real life.
You'll leave the session with a far clearer idea of how to set prices that both you and your clients are happy with.
See you on October 7, 10:00 - 12:00 at the Nightingale Theatre, above the Grand Central pub. It’s a gorgeous location and they serve a mean coffee.
