Event description

Description

Registration is free, however your school will be invoiced £95 per delegate and £45 for a further delegate from the same school/parish.

This one day course is aimed at Headteachers, Worship Co-ordinators and all those involved in planning and leading Collective Worship/assemblies in Church Schools and Community Schools.

Collective Worship, in both faith and community schools, has the potential to be the beating heart of your school. A time where your school comes together as a community to mark the seasonal waymarks of the year, reflect on key issues of the day, and celebrate the wonderful diversity of our world. It can be a moment for children and staff alike to reflect on big questions of life - and encounter the other in music, art and text. This course will showcase the many ways in which Collective Worship can be utilised to develop your pupil's spirituality and sense of themselves and the world around them.

Outcomes:

  • be equipped to lead inspirational Collective Worship for pupils across differing age groups in the schools you serve

  • Have ideas about how to effectively monitor the impact of Collective Worship in the Life of the School

  • Have some practical examples of how to equip pupils in your school to both be part of, and lead Collective Worship

  • Gain the skills to offer motivating constructive coaching feedback to others as to how to improve Collective Worship appropriate for different settings

  • An understanding of the role that pupils can play in Collective Worship
