Event Details

What does the future look like for the next generation? What will the young people of the North East do for a living in five, ten or twenty years?  How can a generation brought up on the gig economy and digital technology create a sustainable future?

In a time of change and challenge the Creative Industries are growing faster than all other sectors in the UK. It’s already worth over £100billion and employs 3million people. Here in the North East it is growing faster than anywhere in the country.

There are jobs and for almost everyone and exciting careers waiting to be made.

From technicians to curators and forklift drivers. From artists to administrators and kitchen staff. From games designers to joiners, venue managers and more. This event will help you signpost our region’s young people to the creative jobs of tomorrow.

We will introduce you to some of the industry’s success stories. You will be inspired by young people and sector leaders, and we’ll help you find the best ways to support your young people into creative work.

You’ll be joined by other teachers, careers advisors, parents, community organisations, education leaders and policymakers. You will get hot-off-the-press news about Creative Careers week, planned for November 2019, and meet those who work in the creative industries in our special marketplace.

We know the future can seem dauting. But we believe the next generation can thrive in the Creative Industries.  Join us to find out how.
