Creative Inverclyde

From music and architecture, to art and film, Inverclyde has always had an incredible creative community. To build on that community, we’ve developed Creative Inverclyde, a series of talks and events from local creatives with inspiring stories to tell.

Designed to encourage discussion, share ideas and foster collaboration, we want to champion our creative community and make people aware of the undoubted creative talent from Inverclyde who are making a difference in our local community and on a global scale.

For this special event of Creative Inverclyde, we’re blending together art, graphic design, film-making and social media in one program of four very talented creatives based in Inverclyde.

Our guest speakers are:

Craig Black

Craig is an independent graphic designer, lettering artist and typographer, primarily known for bespoke and innovative typographic illustrations, visual identities, packaging and installations. Craig has recently come home to Inverclyde to set up his new design studio working with local businesses to world-renowned brands having been based in London.

Craig's showreel can we seen here.

Stephanie Boyle

Stephanie is a content strategist, journalist and social media manager with over 12 years’ writing experience and 5 years working in creative agencies. Across her career, she has worked with a wide range of clients, from start-ups to global giants, and writes for various fashion and lifestyle magazines in London.

Karen Patton Orr

Karen is a co-founder of RIG Arts and a graduate of Glasgow School of Art and the academy of Fine Art, Poznan, Poland. She gained an MBA with distinction from Glasgow Caledonian University whilst working for IBM UK Ltd. Karen has combined her background of fine art and business to bring many successful art education projects to the wider community. Karen is a practising artist and currently manages RIG Arts.

Jane McAllister

Jane is a documentary filmmaker with work spanning across the world. For the locals, she is known for her work "We Were Here" which is an alternative cemetery tour incorporating testimony from long passed Inverclyde residents into Greenock cemetery, one of the largest in Europe. Jane is also behind creating a creative community hub which will be based in Inverclyde.
