Creative Meal; adventures in creativity
Join us for a delicious three-course meal combined with a series of talks from three practising creatives, each with a unique story to tell and insights to share.
Starter: Morag Myerscough & Luke Morgan
The evening kicks off with a double helping from award winning artists Morag & Luke who return to The Orangery – the location of their recent installation Swing It! They are both part of creative practice Supergroup London and regularly collaborate on international and UK commissions.
Main Course: Gordon Young
Your starter will be followed by Gordon Young – a renowned visual artist who focuses on creating art for the public domain. His work ranges from sculptures to typographic pavements for places as diverse as government headquarters and village squares. One of Gordon’s largest public projects is the Comedy Carpet in Blackpool with over 160,000 granite letters embedded into concrete.
Desert: Emilie Taylor
The evening will be topped off by Emilie Taylor - a ceramic artist exploring British society through place specific projects, which then inspire pictorial narratives that surround her pots. Emilie is currently undertaking a year-long residency working between Chatsworth – a Ducal Seat in Derbyshire – and The Manor – a post-War council estate in Sheffield – each representing very different examples of life in Britain.
Tickets: £12.50 (includes three-course meal, at least one complimentary glass of wine & booking fee).
