Ileen Gallagher of ISG Productions specializes in the management, creative development and production of cultural, entertainment, and educational experiences that inspire and inform.  Projects range from exhibitions, archives, video production and special events to operations, content development and program planning for not-for-profit and for-profit entities.

Ileen Sheppard Gallagher is the Principal of ISG Productions, and prior to starting her own firm she was the Director of Exhibitions at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, where she developed the inaugural exhibitions as well as the first temporary exhibitions, I Want to Take You Higher, and Rock Style, a joint project with the Metropolitan Museum of Art.  She has also held staff positions at the Library of Congress, Ringling Museum of Art, the Queens Museum of Art and the DeYoung Museum.  She has a MA in Museum Studies, a BA in art history and teaches exhibition planning and design in the graduate Museum Studies Program at NYU.

Since starting her own firm in 1999, she has worked on many popular culture and art-related projects including:

  • Curator for Exhibitionism: Rolling Stones, multi-media thematic celebration of the band that opened at the Saatchi Gallery in London April 2016 and is traveling the world for four years. 
  • Curator for Rolling Stones: 50, the Stones celebrated their 50th anniversary with a photography exhibition that opened at Somerset House London and traveled to the Paley Center in New York.
  • Exhibition Developer and Museum Consultant for the Walt Disney Family Museum which focuses on the life and career of Walt Disney, located in the Presidio, San Francisco
  • Consultant to the Jim Henson Legacy and the Center for Puppetry Arts, Atlanta for the creation of a Jim Henson Wing at the Center.
  • Project Director and Content Developer for Spotlight on Broadway, a multi-media virtual museum of Broadway history which includes 40 video documentaries, one on each of the Broadway theaters, website, mobile application and on-site installation in Times Square.
  • Curator, Charles Ives, Redding, Connecticut 1914-1954, American Academy of Arts and Letters, reinstallation of Ives’s Redding Studio and an accompanying exhibition.
  • Exhibition Developer and Museum Consultant Harley Davidson Museum, focusing on the history and culture of the iconic motorcycle brand.
  • Curator and Project Manager, Harley Davidson’s Open Road World Tour, 100th Anniversary Celebration, 80,000 square feet of traveling exhibitions that focused on the history, culture and design of Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

Please note the start time of 5.45pm is for drinks prior to when the talk starts at 6.30pm in the lecture theatre.

Creative Networks

Creative Networks is Leeds Arts University's major professional events programme with talks from a diverse group of high profile speakers from across the creative industries to entertain, challenge and make us think.

This  year, we are focusing our attention on our partners, collaborators and people contributing great things to the arts, creative industries and the city of Leeds, along with our alumni, students and staff to create a buzz at each event.

Our events are still free of charge, although we have introduced a refundable deposit so we can accurately calculate attendance.

Parking – due to the building works at the University, parking is not currently available on site. The nearest pay and display car park in Woodhouse Lane Car Park (LS2 3AX).

Transport -  Leeds Arts University is approximately 15 minutes walk from Leeds Train Station. Several buses run past the Blenheim Walk campus, including the number 1, 6, and 97.

Whilst you are here, please take some time to visit the Gallery Space. Leeds Arts University have a large and exciting exhibition programme held in both our Vernon Street and Blenheim Walk galleries.  For more information on our current and upcoming exhibitions please visit the University website
