In conversation with Matt Forsythe (Adventure Time) & Cameron Stewart & Babs Tarr (DC Comics / Batgirl)

Exclusive chance to hear extended talks with three of the most celebrated cartoon/comic illustrators in the world. This will be your only chance to gain a unique insight to their varying careers and creative journeys while they are over here for Thought Bubble Festival.
Matt Forsythe (U.S.A.) is the lead designer on the hugely successful Cartoon Network show Adventure Time. He is also the award winning creator of Ojingogo, Jinchalo and has worked as an illustrator for publications such as the NY Times and Wall St. Journal. Matt will discuss his creative journey and provide an insight of what it is like behind the scenes at the Adventure Time studio.
Cameron Stewart & Babs Tarr. Cameron Stewart is currently best known as the co-writer artist of DC Comics’ fan-favourite revamp of Batgirl, and as the artist of the upcoming comic book sequel to Chuck Palahniuk’s Fight Club and Assasin’s Creed. He also created Sin Titulo, a graphic novel that won an Eisner Award and Shuster Award (plus nominated for several others). Babs Tarr has done everything from editorial illustration to toy design and her clients include Cartoon Network, Hasbro, Disney and Brand X.
They will exclusively discuss their joint work on the current Batgirl series for DC Comics and talk about the artistic processes involved.
We would like you to join us from 6pm at Blenheim Walk on Thursday November 13th, for drinks - prior to the talk there will be a range of goods on sale from the local independent art and design bookstore Colours May Vary, comic book store Travelling Man and a stand from the Thought Bubble Festival.

Creative Networks is Leeds College of Art's major professional events programme with talks from a diverse group of high profile speakers from across the creative industries to entertain, challenge and make us think.
For the 2016/17 academic year we are focusing our attention on our partners, collaborators and people contributing great things to the arts, creative industries and the city of Leeds, along with our alumni, students and staff to create a buzz at each event.
Our events are still free of charge, although we have introduced a refundable deposit so we can accurately calculate attendance.
Parking – due to the building works at the college, parking is not currently available on site. The nearest pay and display car park in Woodhouse Lane Car Park (LS2 3AX).
Transport - Leeds College of Art is approximately 15 minutes walk from Leeds Train Station. Several buses run past the Blenheim Walk campus, including the number 1, 6, and 97.
If you would like to arrive early for this event then please take some time to visit the Blenheim Walk Gallery Space. On the day of the event we will have an exhibition from alexandra p. spaulding. Here at Leeds College of Art we run a wide range of courses including degree programmes, further education courses and access courses in creative disciplines. Until July, we will also be running short courses, evening courses and a Saturday Art School for children and young people from 9-18 years.
