We are delighted to welcome Christine Green from Crafting at the Cottage to the Garden House. Christine's recent appearance on the BBC's Make! Craft Britain programme, enthusing about and teaching creative paper cutting to a class of novices, has put paper cutting right in the middle of crafting spotlight. http://christinegreencrafts.co.uk
This one-day workshop will introduce you to a wide variety of cut out items to show just how versatile the craft is - from Victorian fretwork to Haitian metal work to Polish paper cuts.
- Get to grips with designing for cutting using typographic and pictorial elements.
- Create and execute at least one original panel to a high standard.
- Master using a scalpel safely and pick up numerous top tips to aid successful cutting.
You could create a seasonal card/gift, or if you have something in particular that you might like to cut please bring reference material - this could be pictorial or perhaps a saying that you like.
The workshop is suitable for a range of creative abilities including the complete beginner and Christine will bring everything you need for the day - equipment, materials and inspirational resources.
