Creative Self-Care for Counsellors & Psychotherapists
Sat 22 October 2016, 10:15 – 16:00 BST
As a psychotherapist or counsellor, you're brilliant at giving out care, attention and time, and putting other people's needs first - but what about your own needs?
It's time to put yourself first and really look after yourself - physically, emotionally, mentally, and on a soul level.
Join me and a small group of other warm-hearted, thoughtful therapists on a rich, peaceful day of creative self-care, brimming with personal exploration and enjoyment.
• Get a clearer idea of what you need in terms of self-care, and how to give it to yourself
• Create images and artwork which have personal meaning for you
• Give yourself the precious gift of time and attention
We'll be accessing the imagination through relaxation techniques and creative visualisation, and deepening our exploration using a range of art materials (no prior experience required!).
A buffet lunch is included with your booking, and all arts materials will be provided. Please wear comfortable clothes suitable for getting slightly messy in!
This warm, private and friendly one-day workshop is exclusively for psychotherapists and counsellors. By signing up, you agree that you are a psychotherapist or counsellor (senior trainees and retirees are welcome too).
Places are very limited to keep the group size small, so early booking is recommended.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Colchester is 50 minutes away by train from London Liverpool Street. The Minories is near the historic Colchester Castle, and a 20-minute walk or a short bus ride from the mainline station. Or you can get a train to Colchester Town station and take a 7-minute walk to the Minories.
The Minories can by easily reached by any bus which goes through Colchester town centre (end of the High Street).
There are many car parks available nearby, including Priory Street and Britannia car parks. A park-and-ride scheme is also operating in Colchester.
Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?
You are welcome to phone Emma Cameron on 07515 937027 or email email@example.com.
Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
Yes, as long as you let Emma Cameron know. The person you are transferring your ticket to must also be a psychotherapist or counsellor.
Can I update my registration information?
Just email Emma Cameron: firstname.lastname@example.org
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
Please let Emma know in advance the full names of each of the attendees you have booked tickets for. Please note that each attendee must be a psychotherapist or counsellor (student/retired therapists welcome).
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No. I will have your name on my list already and I will be expecting you.
Is there disabled access?
Regrettably, this lovely old venue does not offer disabled access to the rooms we will be using; there is one flight of stairs to walk up. If you would like me to run this workshop in future in a venue with full access, please contact me.
