On Wednesday 14th December, 1.30pm – 4.30pm, we will be hosting ‘Creative Sessions’ for students interested in studying for a degree in the Creative Arts to come along and find out more.
It is a unique opportunity for students to get involved in an interactive afternoon and hear first-hand from University Centre St Helens creative arts staff, current students and artists on what life is like studying creative arts at University Centre St Helens. In addition, your students will have the opportunity to undertake some hands on experience with take away pieces, to help them build their portfolio.

Breakdown of sessions from University Centre St Helens Creative Arts degree courses:
BA (Hons) Fine Art Painting
The BA (Hons) Fine Art Painting team will be hosting a tonal modulation workshop that focuses on using 5 tones, ranging from black to white, make a monochromatic copy of a famous painting concentrating on modulating forms and space within the composition.
BA (Hons) Game Art
The BA (Hons) Game Art team will be holding a Mudbox advanced modelling demonstration workshop. This will give students the opportunity to gain hands on experience of using industry standard software to create a game art piece.
BA (Hons) Graphic Design
The BA (Hons) Graphic Design team will be holding a session which will enable students to complete a small project to add to their portfolio. This will include initial concept thinking/sketching, digital files (could be printed) of the Adobe Illustrator design and a finished 3D laser cut piece of artwork (This could be photographed and added to a portfolio).
BA (Hons) Photography
The BA (Hons) Photography team will be hosting a studio portraiture session using industry standard medium format digital Hasselblad, followed by the use of the new De Vere digital enlarger, resulting in an 8x10 RA4 colour photographic portrait for each attendee.
