About the day:
Expanding awareness through direct experience is one of the most potent vehicles and territories for learning and development. Deepening reflective awareness is in the same league, and when both are being exercised within a relationship there can be a spark of creativity leading to new insights. This is potentially ignited through turn taking, trusting spontaneity at deeper and deeper levels and understanding the latent meaning of the narrative couples bring to sessions.
Presenter: John MacFadyen
This day will be facilitated by John MacFadyen who is a UKCP registered psychotherapist and staff member of the Karuna Institute. He has extensive experience as a psychotherapist, consultant and supervisor. As a Social Worker, John has spent many years working therapeutically with; adults, children, young people, couples and families. John also has specialised in working with groups and has developed his own models of group therapy for working with children and adults. Mindfulness, reflective awareness and deepening trust in spontaneity underpin all of John’s therapeutic work. For John the Core Process Psychotherapy modality is a creative synthesis of Psychodynamic theory and Buddhist Psychology
Aims of the day:
