Creative Symposium: How did we get here, what do we do next?
Sat 6 May 2017, 10:00 – 18:00 BST
How did we get here? What do we do next?
Cardboard Citizens invites you to a day-long creative symposium with activists, artists, lobbyists and arts organisations considering the role of theatre and the arts in combatting the housing crisis, looking at how the past has influenced today’s situation.
It’s been over a year since Cardboard Citizens’ hosted the first Creative Symposium and in that time more has changed than we could have imagined. Big decisions are being made and we want to take this opportunity to ask the question how did we get here and what do we do next?
Bringing together theatre makers, activists, historians and academics, this day of intervention combines practical workshops, creative presentations and interactive sessions led by those working on the frontline of the housing crisis.
Sessions will range from provocations and drop-in talks to workshops and discussions, led by experts including, The Museum of Homelessness, Sue Tibballs OBE, Cheif Executive of Campaigning Organisation SMK, Municipal Dreams, Prof. Nicholas Crowson and Cardboard Citizens' own team of practitioners. Cardboard Citizens’ Members will also co-lead sessions to offer personal histories of the homeless experience.
There are a small amount of bursaries available for those travelling outside of London. To apply please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
We hope you can join us.
