Anyone who would like to learn about the wonderful properties of Tyvek and develop their creative skills.
You will learn:
The workshop will cover:

• how to use templates to create the parts of your chosen botanical arrangement
• how to stitch, embellish and heat distress Tyvek to make realistic botanical creations.
You will be given the support you require for your individual development. There are no exams or formal assessments. There will be chance to ask questions and put what you have learned into practice.
Work outside of sessions:
There is no requirement for further work, but we hope you will enjoy putting your new skills into practice and maybe come on another course to learn more.
Additional costs and what to prepare:
Preferably you will be able to bring a basic sewing machine, but you can use hand stitching in this course, or possibly use one of the centre machines.
If you are not confident setting up and using a sewing machine, you may want to attend our free online ‘Find Your Way Around Your Sewing Machine’ workshop on 13 January and /or the ‘Introduction to Free Machine Embroidery’ course on 15 January (online) or 19 March (Buxton).
You will need to bring £8 towards the cost of materials provided. You will also need a pen and paper, laptop or tablet so that you can make your own notes. Handouts will be provided.
Progression from this course:
You may wish to progress to further Creative Textile workshops where you can develop your stitching skills further such as ‘Lutrador lanterns’, also at Glossop ACE Centre. Discuss your next steps with your tutor.
