Creative Workshop: A Bottle of Happiness with Pippa Goodhart
Sat 27 May 2017, 16:30 – 17:30 BST
Can you bottle happiness?
A Bottle of Happiness – now that’s something we could all do with; but can happiness be caught and put into a bottle? Well the first part is easy: we can infect people with our own happiness; but bottling it? That’s altogether different. It is, however, the challenge young Pim is faced with when, accompanied by Tiddle his dog, he crosses the mountain to learn a lesson about what we should really value in life in this beautiful, modern-day Iranian fable about spreading happiness through laughter and music.
Author Pippa Goodhart (You Choose) will read A Bottle of Happiness and explore these ideas in a creative workshop, in which the children will then make their own bottle of happiness – writing down what gives them joy and putting these messages in their bottle, then decorating it to take home.
A Bottle of Happiness, illustrated by Iranian Ehsan Abdollahi, is published by Tiny Owl, http://tinyowl.co.uk an independent children’s publisher founded in 2015, on the belief that stories can bridge cultural gaps and differences. Their intercultural project pairs celebrated UK writers like Pippa Goodhart with illustrators in countries such as Iran.
Places are limited to 35 participants. All children are required to have purchased a ticket under the General Admissions category and should be accompanied by an adult. Accompanying adults attend for free.
