Write the wrong: Do you have a difficult story to tell? This interactive creative writing workshop will explore the themes of compassion, courage and social change, teaching participants how to express themselves on paper in a meaningful manner. Whether you work in the charity or education sector – or simply want to work on your storytelling skills – this session could prove life-changing. After all, only you have the power to write your own story.
Reach emotional equilibrium: Is there an issue holding you back from inner happiness? Whether there’s something in your working life, health, relationship or even your character you’re keen to change, this family constellations workshop, held by Aleksandra Shymina, will give you the tools to trace where your stress might stem from and learn how to disentangle your future from the past. Come along ready to share an issue or help fellow participants gain a new perspective on their situation.
Storytelling through drama: Storytelling through drama is one of the most powerful and compelling forms of expression. This theatrical workshop uses performing art to help people discover how to share experiences and communicate effectively through stories. Theatre can also be a particularly effective way for different age groups to gain a deeper understanding of each other and learn to relate to each other on a new level. (Open to all aged 12 upwards).
Discover your story through a variety of film screenings, creative workshops and a world music concert. The Changemakers Arts Festival is a celebration of storytelling through the arts. Highlights include the premiere of 'A film for Northern Uganda'; get creative to find inner peace with acclaimed urban poet, comedian and broadcaster Mr Gee; and enjoy world sounds with live performances from Namlo (Nepalese folk music), Ghanaian drummers Sabbey International and Jazz London DJ Mooney.
