Art inspiring hope: Things happen in our lives that shape who we become and how we identify ourselves. Whatever your previous art experience, this positive and practical workshop will empower you to represent untapped inner resources in a creative visual form. Led by Tam Fowles, you’ll leave with a clearer understanding of the significant role art can play in healing the past and how this hands-on approach could help you transform your relationship with challenging situations.
Using Shakespeare - Telling Your Story: you will be guided through the language, characters and themes of a Shakespeare play by experienced facilitators from Intermission Outreach to develop your very own version of a Shakespeare scene, reflecting the images and messages that YOU find important. Consisting of helpful exercises and tactics when it comes to devising and re-imagining a piece, Using Shakespeare - Telling Your Story promises to be an exciting opportunity for theatre-makers and storytellers alike.
Discover your story through a variety of film screenings, creative workshops and a world music concert. The Changemakers Arts Festival is a celebration of storytelling through the arts. Highlights include the premiere of 'A film for Northern Uganda'; get creative to find inner peace with acclaimed urban poet, comedian and broadcaster Mr Gee; and enjoy world sounds with live performances from Namlo (Nepalese folk music), Ghanaian drummers Sabbey International and Jazz London DJ Mooney.
