Event description
Creative writing course with authors Karen McLeod and Paul Burston.

About this event

6 week creative writing course with authors Karen McLeod and Paul Burston, starting on Sep 7 and running until Oct 12 as part of the 2021 Polari Tour.

Karen McLeod is the award-winning author of In Search of the Missing Eyelash and Writer in Residence at the Bookseller Crow where she runs creative writing classes.

Paul Burston is the author of six novels and the editor of two short story collections. He is the founder of Polari literary salon and the Polari Prize for LGBTQ+ writing.

The course is open to all, whatever your level of experience. There'll be a theme set each week where participants will be given a writing exercise, then offered feedback by the workshop facilitators. Examples will include broad subjects which can be applied to all kinds of writing. (Note - these will be different themes / exercises to those used during the last course.) Authors, poets, performers, short story writers and writers of non-fiction are all equally welcome.

Please note - to book all six weeks there is a one off price of £60+ booking fees, or the option to book a single class at £15 + booking fee.

Each class has a maximum of 12 places to ensure there is a workshop environment.

The workshops will be hosted on Zoom. A link will be sent to you after booking.
