About this event

This workshop is led by poet Jennifer Williams. We will explore the history of the National Library of Scotland, and personal memories of libraries through writing prompts and creative responses.

Bring your memories of libraries you have loved, and any objects, books or photographs that go along with them.

The workshop will begin and end with a series of embodied movements and relaxation to help us connect to ourselves, one another, our memories and the space. We will also have an optional short behind the scenes tour of the library to inspire our writing as part of the session.

This session is the first in a three-part series creatively responding to memories of libraries in our past, libraries of the present and the future. Participants can choose to attend one, two, or all three of the sessions in the series. Future sessions will be advertised later in the year.
