About this event

Community • Heritage

In the last of this three-part series of workshops, poet Jennifer Williams will lead you on an exploration far into the future. You will design and board imaginary time machines that will help you think about what libraries might look like in 200 or even 2000 years.

Please bring an image – one you drew, printed, or cut out – that represents to you what a beautiful library of the future might look like or contain.

The workshop will begin and end with embodied movement and relaxation to help you connect to yourselves, one another, your dreams, and the space. Images will be shared to help you design the time machines and write in response to the explorations.

This workshop will also include a tour of the National Library of Scotland.

Please wear comfortable clothes and bring whatever you love to write on and with.

About the workshop leader:

Jennifer Williams is a poet and creator of Utopia Lab at the Edinburgh Futures Institute.
