Creative Writing Workshop - Stepping into the Green

Join Fiona, local Nottinghamshire poet and experienced creative writing tutor as she guides you through a simple process of observation and writing, specially created for beginners who want to try poetry or prose.

Our growing awareness of the nurturing value of the natural world is one reason why so many people get enjoyment from writing about what they see around them. This workshop is the perfect way to get started with some nature writing of your own. The earliest pale green leaves appear, and the blossoms and blooms colour everywhere.  Spring brings the newness of life and hope, so step into the vibrancy of Hanwell Wine Estate's vineyard and you are bound to find inspiration!

The workshop will take place in Rural Antics converted art & craft barn followed by an inspirational walk around the vineyard taking in the beautiful views of the open Nottinghamshire countryside. The setting provides the perfect space to relax and engage in your passion while learning new and useful skills.

Outline of the session:

A welcome and introduction

A brief discussion about yourself and what you would like to gain by the end of your creative writing session

Begin with some short writing exercises indoors using real materials from Hanwell Wine Estate's vineyard

Then a walk through the vineyard notetaking with writing guidance from your tutor

Return to the art & craft barn for morning refreshments and snacks

Finish with some sharing and tips on how you can share your work with family & friends by your tutor
