Description

Following the popular and successful programme at LBF’s Literary Translation Centre last spring, LBF brings you a webcast, again celebrating literary translation and translators: an upbeat publishing niche in an industry that often focuses on gloomy forecasts.

Lead by Rosie Goldsmith, acclaimed broadcaster and journalist, three panellists will debate the nature of Literary Translation, the skills required, how to forge a career in this arena, current trends, and the opportunities and challenges in getting world literature translated. Speakers include Frank Wynne an Irish literary translator and writer, Rebecca Carter, Literary Agent Janklow & Nesbit and Bill Swainson literary consultant and freelance editor.

Who is it for?

Practising translators; emerging translators; students; publishers, and anyone interested in literature.

When? The live webcast is taking place 17 July 2017, 12:30
