A two-day seminar workshop for the development of effective training design and delivery.
29-30th June 2017, Lisbon, Portugal
Join Dr. George Simons for two days of hands-on exploration of both current and leading edge creative techniques for enhancing your training and teaching interventions, both face-to-face and online. This program is aimed both at current and aspiring intercultural professionals working in commercial, social and academic settings. You will also be challenged to dare and care to share your own developments and your personal experiences.
We will explore:
*How current scientific explorations into mental functioning can be used to achieve more insightful and lasting learning.
*What current trends in humanistic studies can contribute to the focus and presentation of training activities.
*Tools for the linguistic exploration of one's own and each other's cultural discourse.
*Employing the Gestalt dynamics of foreground and background in cultural identity formation and expression.
*Naming and the impact of names.
*The dynamics of gamification and the introduction of serious gaming into both the marketing and delivery of training.
*The challenges and opportunities posed by the advent of technological developments to effective individual and group training, e.g., the use of instant translation, virtual reality
*Participants are encouraged to bring and use their laptops, tablets and/or smartphones.

Trainer Profile - Dr. George Simons (www.georgesimons.com & www.diversophy.com) is a veteran interculturalist who has worked in over 50 countries, and published numerous books and articles relevant to the intercultural field. Currently he has been managing and contributing to the social networking sites of SIETAR Europa and is deeply engaged in projects focused on creating training and interventions to assist the acculturation of migrants in local destination communities.
