About this Event
Our courses are open to all adults who are UK residents and live, work or study in Leeds.
Creativity and experimenting with different art forms can play a hugely positive role in supporting our mental health, life and wellbeing as a whole.
Anyone can be creative and sometimes it's just about having a go and getting started. In this 6 session course, hosted by our friends at Arts & Minds, each week you will be joined by a different local artists who will introduce you to a new ‘hands on’ creative activity that you are invited to take part in.
Workshop themes:
- Creative bookmaking
- Paper patchwork
- Foil embossing
- Creative collage
-Positive affirmation baubles
-Sculpture made easy
In these 'live' online sessions, we will:
- Explore what role creativity can play in promoting recovery
- Take part in a creative activity to understand the process and benefits to wellbeing
- Find out what online creative opportunities are available locally
Leeds Recovery College opened in 2019 and delivers a range of education and training courses that have been specifically designed to increase awareness and understanding of mental health, wellbeing and personal recovery.
Courses are co-designed and run by people with lived experience of mental health problems and health professionals, trainers and education providers.
Our courses are open to all adults who live, work or study in Leeds and you don’t need to be referred to the college to book on a course. Simply enrol on the course or workshop that is of interest to you.
Once you've made you're Eventbrite booking, we will get in touch and ask you to complete a course enrolment form to confirm your course place. You will receive course confirmation and joining instructions before the course starts and this will include information about the course. This course is delivered by Leeds City College, you will receive a link to complete the enrolment with them and then you will receive the Google classroom link to access the course.
