Please join us at Somerset House on the 7th October at 6.00 pm- 8.30pm (Embankment entrance- Strand London WC2R 1L) for a presentation of work from Creativity Works Design Students. 25 Students have worked with Makerversity and Machines Rooms for two weeks to respond to live design briefs. This event will be a chance to see initial ideas and network with new talent in a beautiful venue. We want to connect course participants to the next phase in their development, be it a work placement, freelance design work or apprenticeships.
All are welcome to attend, Creativity Works Alumni, mentors, and professionals wanting to expand their company or find out more are welcome to attend to offer advice, guidance and feedback to young designers just starting out.
Creativity Works is a Mayor’s Fund for London programme supported by Berkeley Group, and delivered by A New Direction is aimed at supporting 18-24 year old Londoners to get fair access to work opportunities in the wider creative industries. This is the 8th Creativity Works and explores a range of pathways into the Design Industry, including: product design, design thinking and theory, working with clients, graphic design, media, advertising, and the basics of self-employment. The creative industries in London are growing; London has always been a creative place and we want to keep it that way by ensuring local people get access to local employment opportunities.
