Event description

Description

What is creativity? How creative ideas emerge and evolve? How can I enhance my creativity?

This creativity workshop is aimed for anyone who's interested in creativity. During the day, the participants will be introduced to creativity in psychological and sociological research. Also, participants will join a drama workshop focusing on how to recognise and enhance one's creative abilities. Questions and discussion will be welcomed throughout the day.

Workshop tutors:

Tuukka Toivonen, PhD (Oxford), Organisational Sociologist

Tuukka Toivonen, born in Helsinki, is an expert on creativity in entrepreneurship, coworking and collaborative organisations. Having gained a PhD from the University of Oxford and worked in global academia for 10+ years, Tuukka decided to set up a company called Creative Friction to bring cutting-edge organisational research into a direct conversation with the fast-evolving frontlines of coworking and collaboration. He maintains an active link to leading academic institutions as a senior lecturer at the UCL Institute of Global Prosperity and as an affiliated researcher at UCL STEaPP and LSE Enterprise.

Tuukka’s empirical creativity research has been funded by the ESRC, the Skoll Foundation, think tanks such as Sitra as well as several university funds. He draws inspiration from a prior life in music, from fashion and design, Japanese culture, as well as life in Hackney. During the workshop, Tuukka will discuss the social and organisational side of creative processes, focusing on the creative idea journey as a unifying concept of scholarly and practical importance.
