Creatures of the Wetland at Den of Maidencraig LNR

Ponds and wetlands are incredibly biodiverse habitats. These miniature ecosystems are full of drama and wonder as many insects and amphibians begin their lives beneath the water surface. But it doesn't end there as the skies above ponds are patrolled by fast and agile aerial predators, such as damsel and dragonflies.

Join the Countryside Rangers for a morning of pond dipping at Den of Maidencraig Local Nature Reserve to discover what lurks in the depths of the wetland.

We will provide the necessary equipment but please bring wear sturdy, waterproof footwear and remember to dress appropriately for the weather too.
